I arrived there at about 845, it started a little late, waiting for the GOH to appear. Dipal Barua gave a really inspiring talk about efforts Grameen Shakti have been doing to help the rural areas, developing them using clean energy methods.
The next panelist discussed about how things are different in other countries. realized some interesting stuff about electricity, things like hybrid car are more suitable to be used in singapore than states, electricity costs are different in the day and night but its charged the same, how much policies are actually limiting or not supporting green energy growth.
The lunch was not bad, something like buffet style thingy with desserts and fruits.
The session after lunch was a split track, i decided not to go solar and go something i have no clue about, turn out to be a good choice. my frens who went to the solar side say its too technical and fell asleep :P phew.... i was in the session where they talked about CDM, no idea wat it was, now i know its clean development mechanism. something related to kyoto protocol. something like if u reduce how much carbon emission then u can get how much financial support. Also this GreenAsia guy talked about how his company give out greenlabel to products that are produced with minimal carbon footprint.
then the last panelist was the best of the day. Claire Chiang is a really good speaker, talked about how her company did their part in promoting green, oso about the effort to try fix thing by creating mini eco system. They plant trees as part of their CSR thingy, but instead of planting random trees, they plant fruit trees in villages and allocate it to different household after which fruits are being processed in a green factory to make dried fruits to be sold back to their own hotels and be served to guests.
There was this SIA girl who was not really that impressive, sounds like bs-ing to me. Was quite funny when she kena shot by one of the audience about how come u say so green then aircon in the plane is colder than winter in korea or something like that.
Also this marketing VP from Jupiter, was just normal...so so. but still better than the SIA gal.
All in all, a really well organized conference, with great speakers, great delegates in a great venue.
After that of course i also went to Genesis, an event organized by NES. One of my friend is the events director, he kept asking me to signup, then i realized i became the 1st one to signup for that. The only speaker from stickfas founder BAN YINH JHEOW. topic creativity and innovation, quite interesting to see his point of view. definitely a funny and cool guy, spending his life playing games and developing toys.
Today is a full day for me. totally tired...
Interesting Events.
