flag erasers

i was in a shower and suddenly had this idea of bringing my fav childhood game over for my DT - the erasers!


in case you have no idea what it is...its those eraser with a flag on it, some with country name, some without, small sized, used to be about RM0.10 each, kids (including me) buy chunks of it and use it to "fight". play against each other, the winner keep the loser's eraser. i used to collect up to 100 or 200 of them..tried very hard to collect all countries....

apparently during my childhood time, its very hard to get one with Malaysia flag, thats why we keep buying until we get one. the bookstore auntie will just randomly pick one for us, and a bunch of us will crowd the bookstore during reccess time. shouting and cheering if we get the country that we want.

i was searching online about it and found alot of people discuss about it. reminded of those fun times we had with those erasers. sometimes after losing a few to your friend, you would pull out the "king" eraser and somehow u will win back. thats how those are called the "king"

I still remember i used to buy a lot and hide it from my mom and dad. keep it in the "secretive" places and bring like 10-20 to school and "fight" with friends.

haha...childhood memories.

Anyone have any idea where can i get those nowadays? im planning to get some...

hand warmer

I remember i was first introduced to this thing when i went to taiwan in 2005. it was december, winter in taiwan and i spent about 3 weeks there. it was quite interesting to find such thing and i bought some and found it quite useful. 

it usually comes with a plastic packaging and once you open the plastic packaging, all you need to do is shake it for a while and it will keep you warm for upto 12 hours. I remember using alot of them when i was at Alisan because it was so cold that time. i remember i had one in each of my pocket and it feels real good when you put your hand into the pocket and feel the heat.

i suddenly thought of this special product is because it is so FREAKING hot these days in singapore. i wonder if there are any similar product that function the opposite way. open the packaging, shake it for a while and it will absorb all the heat. wouldnt it be nice if you have a few of those now in your pocket. then it will be like having an aircon thingy in the pocket. 

Im sure it will be sold out within 30minutes if it is available in singapore, or any country having similar weather. 

i will at least get 10 of them spread it over my bed and sleep on it.

random ads

i got into youtube randomly and started watching lots of ads again. 

found more interesting ones that i thought its something nice to share. 

some of them are really meaningful. made to leave an impact to people's life and thoughts while some are just pure for laughs. 

something i realize, thais are really good at ads. i seen some really funny ads from thai and all of them are very very very creative. 

This is an interesting one. nothing said throughout the whole thing. just a message sent across clearly.

these talk about how things can changed with just a little change in the attitude.

 and this one is a very nice mv with a very good storyline. someone sent to me before, but i came across this and think its quite nice. 

this is an ad with a interesting storyline. i didnt know what ad it is until the end.  

The rest are just for laughs. 

 i really liked this tho. very creative stuff.

New way of communication - twitter

have been playing around with this thing recently and found it quite interesting. What is twitter? 

u know the thing u have in facebook homepage where u type a short length of stuff and share..thats something copied over from twitter, or mayb the other way round. Anyway, its a place where u get connected with friends, then u write some stuff to keep everyone updated about whats happening with u. even the smallest daily life thing or your thoughts at any random moment. 

some people call it micro-blogging, because it functions kind of like a blog where u write to let the world know whats happening with u, but limited to 140 words or so... and yea, it functions something like facebook, friendster, xiaonei or all the similar stuff - to keep you connected to people.

anyway, i found a video that explains it very well. in fact, these video makers are damn good at making videos that they explain everything really in the most simple easy to understand way. 

Most of the title for their videos are something something in plain english. which really is. i think they will grow big...its like the dummies series, video version. and its free. 

you should just check out commoncraft if you like the videos.

Lots of people have talked about how the issue is bad bad bad in the country. and i was randomly watching some tv ads and i realize how much effort have some people put in to try to educate people about the issue. 

And also from watching those ads, i realize msia does quite good adverts too. at least its meaningful...
